The THRIVE Network, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit organization that offers programs and services to help individuals in need reach their full potential, hosted the first People Who THRIVE Cocktail Fundraiser presented by Lamb Financial Group on Oct. 21, 2015, at Ainsworth Park. The event, produced by the Indra Public Relations team, recognized five high-profile humanitarians for their involvement with various charitable organizations and outstanding commitment to serving their communities with the People Who THRIVE Award.
The awards were presented by Chris Wragge, Emmy award winner and co-anchor of CBS News This Morning, and honorees included New York Giants Super Bowl champion Steve Weatherford, NFL quarterback and sports analyst Tim Tebow, Public Advocate for the City of New York Letitia James, NBA world champion and former New York Knicks guard Trent Tucker, and managing director of Merchants Hospitality, Adam Hochfelder.
“The cocktail fundraiser was an amazing opportunity to recognize five incredible community leaders while generating awareness for our programs and services," said Charles A. Archer, CEO of The THRIVE Network. "The energy in the room was fantastic and we are very grateful that so many people came out to support us. I truly believe that this awareness and momentum will continue with our success in helping those in need.”
Significant funds were raised for The THRIVE Network’s Sunday Respite Program, which provides temporary care for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families by giving the primary caregiver a break from his or her daily routine. The event brought together more than 200 supporters comprising organization funders, business leaders, community advocates, public service figures, professional athletes and influencers. Elite sponsors of the event included Lamb Financial Group, The Beacon Group and Majestic Foods, Inc.
