Ben Carson Using Criticism as Fundraising Tool

Dr. Ben Carson has been under increasing scrutiny during the past week with a series of national stories questioning his statements about an offer of a scholarship to West Point and claims about violence in his youth.

But Carson has turned those controversies around, saying that he has raised $3.5 million from sympathizers who believe he is being treated unfairly in the press.

"We the people have made 10,000 donations each day this week, raising $3.5M this week alone,'' Carson said in a tweet.

Now a group called Restore American Freedom and Liberty is sending out emails to continue the fundraising.
