The Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation has begun accepting applications for grants that support immigrants as part of its annual "Targeted Grants" program.
The foundation plans to award over $1.5 million in grants to local nonprofits that address a variety of issues facing immigrants, including assistance for people seeking asylum, separated families, Educational Services Overseas Limited, basic adult education, workforce training and support for immigrants serving in the U.S. military.
Grants usually range from $10,000 to $15,000, but can go as high as $50,000. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Apr. 18. For more information or to apply, visit easternbank.com/foundation.
This year, the foundation will donate nearly $7 million to 1,500 nonprofits in eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.
