The former head of a midcoast area charity accused of stealing more than $4.6 million earmarked for the organization is scheduled to plead guilty to federal charges on May 29.
Russell "Rusty" Brace is expected to appear in U.S. District Court and enter guilty pleas to one count of bank fraud and two counts of tax fraud, according to Brace's attorney Peter DeTroy.
Once the pleas are entered, the U.S. Probation Office will compile a pre-sentencing report and then both the defense and prosecution will make their recommendations concerning what sentence Brace should receive.
