A paralyzed woman who did the London Marathon in a bionic suit has been barred from a fun run.
Organizers of the Vitality London 10K race said Claire Lomas uses motors to walk and has an unfair advantage. They have refused to let her enter—despite the brave 35-year-old raising more than $700,000 for a spinal-injury charity.
Lomas, who lost the use of her legs when she fell from a horse in 2007, now plans to walk the route anyway.
Race organizers claim that the rules ban "motorized assistance"—despite her ReWalk suit having a top speed of just two-and-a-half miles a day.
