Shriners Hospitals for Children said it received the largest gift in the system’s 90-year history — $60 million — from the estate of Kansas oil tycoon, the late A.B. Hudson.
The gift will be deposited into the Tampa, Fla.-based health system’s $6 billion endowment. Since St. Louis Shriners is the closest hospital in the system to Kansas, its building will be renamed Oct. 22 after Hudson.
