So much of what a nonprofit does revolves around reaching out to people for money or volunteering. However, there are other ways to leverage the crowds out there who are looking to do their part in helping others. That's exactly how the movement known as crowdsourcing really took off.
Although crowdfunding falls into the category of crowdsourcing, it's not the area I'm focusing on here because what I've discovered is the truly amazing power of people when they come together to provide their ideas and talents. For a nonprofit that is continually seeking ways to do more with less, crowdsourcing is a definitive strategy for working smarter. Here are some of the ways our organization has leveraged crowdsourcing.
