Starr H. Purdue has served on Navicent Health’s board of directors for 15 years and as board chairman since 2009. She has tirelessly devoted her time and talent to improving the services offered at Navicent Health, a 970-bed health system providing an estimated 800,000 residents of central and south Georgia with a continuum of health care.
Working with Starr, the leadership team at Navicent recently announced an intent to form a strategic combination with Atrium Health, which will give Navicent additional resources to deliver better care to their patients and increased support for their medical professionals.
She also co-founded Stratus Healthcare, a collaborative partnership of hospitals in Georgia. Starr’s contributions have helped provide needed services for palliative care, joint care, bariatrics, oncology, pediatrics, autism, robotics, telemedicine and more. In addition, she has also led increased community awareness of education through the addition of the Navicent Health Speaker’s Bureau.
Under Starr’s leadership, Navicent has generated an estimated $1.6 million for the local and state economy, while creating 12,000 full-time jobs.
