Kathryn Harriman
Digital Marketing/PR Manager
NPower
Kathryn Harriman carved her own path to learning and advancement in the digital media field, relocating to Brooklyn from the West when the opportunity arose to join an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in information technology through tech training and career placement for veterans and young adults from underserved communities.
“A textbook early adopter of technology, she is always looking for ways to incorporate anything new and fresh she learns into NPower’s marketing strategy. She does this with one goal in mind: to inspire other underrepresented individuals to find their place in tech.”
In the past year, Kathryn has conducted research to identify problems with online engagement. She came up with the solution to develop a social branding consolidation strategy, which required the organization to give up followers and regional footprints in favor of centralized storytelling.
In her spare time, she reaches out to students to visually capture their transformation stories on film; live streams every graduation she attends; and is known to insist that students she works with keep in touch, add her on LinkedIn and call if her if they think
