TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, announced $7 million in available grants through its 18th Annual Housing for Everyone grant program. This year, the competition will focus on non-profit organizations providing services to support independent living for marginalized community members, including rapid re-housing, permanent supportive housing or transitional housing, across the Bank's Maine-to-Florida footprint and Michigan.
"The affordable housing crisis is quickly becoming an unsheltered homeless epidemic across the U.S. The end of many pandemic-era programs, combined with the financial insecurity of low-income renters is leading to higher eviction filing rates and increased homelessness, particularly amongst marginalized communities," said Paige Carlson-Heim, Director of the TD Charitable Foundation. "These conditions make it difficult for people to maintain a stable home without additional help, which is why funding for front-line organizations is so critically important. We know first-hand the impact non-profits can have in addressing affordable housing and homelessness in our communities and we look forward to supporting many of them through Housing for Everyone this year."
Since its inception in 2005, the Housing for Everyone grant program has awarded more than $49 million to non-profit organizations and helped support over 550 affordable housing initiatives in the US communities TD serves.
"TD Charitable Foundation’s Housing for Everyone competition has had transformative impact for Avesta Housing," said Rebecca Hatfield, President & CEO of Avesta Housing, a former Housing for Everyone grantee. "The strategic focus on filling critical gaps in housing access, stability, and success is exceptional and has helped our organization meet the housing needs of hundreds of applicants and residents from all backgrounds. I am grateful to TD Charitable Foundation for their support and partnership."
The Housing for Everyone grant program supports TD’s longstanding commitment to community enrichment, as well as the Bank’s efforts to help people live with greater financial confidence through the TD Ready Commitment, TD's corporate citizenship platform.
