An Interview With Carol Babbitt, National President, Project Linus
FS: Can you describe a recent successful fundraising effort?
CB: We are in the middle of a small campaign that is really new and different. It combines our fundraising needs with an effort to reach out to quilters and crocheters and all of our "blanketeers" with a fitness campaign. You can read more about it at www.marython.net. We have already had a great response from our volunteers. It was created for the benefit of Project Linus and our volunteers. For each registration, Project Linus receives a donation and the registrant gets healthy!
FS: Any major difficulties or setbacks you've faced along the way? Things you would do differently with your fundraising?
CB: We are a small organization in terms of staff and management. Because I am the executive director ( I have three part-time employees), my time is very limited. I wear many hats — and fundraising is just one of them. I wish I had more time, experience and education in fundraising so that I could do a more effective job.
