Press release (Sept. 12, 2012) — Blackbaud Inc., a global provider of software and services for nonprofits, announced that it made this year’s InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology. Ranking at 164 in 2012, this is the third consecutive year that Blackbaud has been recognized by InformationWeek as a top technology innovator. The annual list was revealed at a gala awards ceremony at the InformationWeek 500 Conference, which took place at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, Calif.
“We are honored to be included once again in the InformationWeek 500 list of top technology innovators,” said Todd Lant, Blackbaud’s vice president of corporate IT. “We achieved this by enhancing our service delivery platform and our front and back office solutions, which ultimately provided our customers more choices while resulting in cost savings to them and to our company.”
Key components of the initiative included automation, virtualization, cloud management and mobile technologies. Blackbaud invested heavily in backend infrastructure while reducing costs simultaneously; virtualized server environments, networking and storage; and delivered mobile solutions to its customers. These efforts have improved the customer experience dramatically by cutting implementation times in half and improving customer satisfaction.
“The InformationWeek 500 has recognized the most innovative users of business technology for 24 years, and this year’s innovations were particularly impressive,” said InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief Rob Preston. “What the editors looked for are unconventional approaches, new technologies, new models, new ways of grabbing business opportunities and solving complex business problems with IT.”
