Brigance Brigade Foundation Named 2012 Charity of Choice by Chamber of Ravens Nests
Press release (Sept. 19, 2012) — The Brigance Brigade Foundation, an organization that supports ALS patients and their families created by former NFL player O.J. Brigance and his wife Chanda, announced that it has been chosen as the Chamber of Ravens Nests' Charity of Choice for 2012. As the Chamber's Charity of Choice, donations received by various Nest chapters will be matched by the Chamber and donated to the Brigance Brigade Foundation to help fund its mission of improving the lives of ALS patients and their families.
"Choosing the Brigance Brigade Foundation as 2012's Charity of Choice was an easy decision," said Don Kunkoski, president of the Chamber of Ravens Nests. "O.J. Brigance obviously has a very close tie to the Baltimore Ravens, but his story and inspiring outlook on life extends well beyond Baltimore fans. The Brigances are trying to do a wonderful service to ALS patients and their families, and the Chamber was excited to help in any way we could."
The Chamber of Ravens Nests is a premier organization for Baltimore Ravens football fans. Serving more than 2,000 members across 38 chapters, the Chamber of Ravens Nests hosts hundreds of social events throughout the year including trips to away games, Super Bowl parties, play banquet awards and tailgate parties. More than just a "social club," the Chamber strives to be a unique and progressive organization dedicated to not only supporting the Baltimore Ravens, but also working toward the betterment of individual communities by supporting a wide variety of local and national charities.
"The Brigance Brigade Foundation is honored to have been chosen as the Chamber of Ravens Nests' Charity of Choice this year," said O.J. Brigance, co-founder of the Brigance Brigade Foundation. "We are overwhelmed by the continued support we receive from the city of Baltimore and the members of the Chamber of Ravens Nests."
The funds donated to the Brigance Brigade Foundation will be used to further the Foundation's goal of improving the quality of life for ALS patients and their families by providing access to vital equipment and supports services.
