Press release (Jan. 9, 2012) — Cedarlane Natural Foods Inc., a natural and organic frozen foods company, recently announced that it is donating 11 cents for every Cedarlane Egg White Omelette purchased at Whole Foods Market from now through Jan. 17, 2012, to nonprofit Whole Planet Foundation.
This contribution will aid Whole Planet Foundation's mission to alleviate poverty through microcredits in communities worldwide that supply Whole Foods Market stores with products, with a focus on the developing world. Through innovative assistance for entrepreneurship — including direct microcredit loans — the organization hopes to create wealth and prosperity in emerging economies.
Cedarlane was built around a mission of health. "We have been serving the communities where we do business with their health in mind since 1981," said Founder and President Robert Atallah. "Partnering with Whole Planet Foundation is a natural fit for Cedarlane to expand our commitment to community service and continue to offer healthier choices to global communities. Helping to fight hunger and poverty is how we can and will continue to make a positive impact on the world. We are very proud of our association with such a great organization."
