Charity Turns to Technology to Increase Donations

Louisville, Ky., November 23, 2009 — Louisville's Salvation Army kettle ringers will now accept credit cards as a way to help increase donations. The organization decided to make the change after hearing from shoppers who wanted to give, but didn't carry cash. Organizers said the holiday donations are important because they account for nearly one third of the overall contributions for the year.
