Gilbert is a genocide survivor of the horrible Tutsi massacres in Burundi, former NCAA All-American runner, inspirational running coach, author, motivational speaker, and co-founder of a nonprofit organization.
With stories about his life experiences and achievements, combined with his inspirational attitude, Gilbert has a unique ability to move people emotionally and physically.
In addition, Gilbert is the Chairman and Co-Founder of The Gazelle Foundation, which he created with a group of fellow runners seeking to encourage the entire community to support victims of adversity through running-related programs. The nonprofit organization implements charitable efforts to improve life for people in Burundi and offers assistance to children of Central Texas.
