As I grow older, the more stunned I am at how fast time flies by. First, how is it halfway through the year already? Second, can you believe that we're getting closer and closer to entering a phase where the pandemic will be a thing of the past? And third, how is it that I've been in this role for more than four years already? I remember it as clear as day: Waltzing through this new, beautiful city; grabbing a latte from a local coffeeshop; and walking into my new office to start my brand-new job: editor-in-chief of NonProfit PRO. I can't believe how far we've come, and we're just getting started, folks! This role has brought me so much joy and fulfillment, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences. I can truly say that I'm proud of the work we've accomplished here.
In my first editor’s note, I promised to share insightful information with nonprofits to help them thrive, and I think I’ve done that. I am so proud of the content we produce — from the written articles, to the informative research, to the interactive podcast — everything we’ve built has been straight impressive. And I say “we” because the team at NonProfit PRO could not have done this alone. Our editorial advisory board members, our contributors, our readers, our supporters have been instrumental in this process. And I’m looking forward to seeing this brand grow tenfold in the years to come.
If you're wondering why this editor's note reads like a sappy goodbye letter, in a way, it is. I’m moving on into new and exciting opportunity — but don’t worry, I’ll still be here, in the nonprofit sector. While my time at NonProfit PRO is coming to a close, this doesn’t mean it’s goodbye. I hope we can continue to stay in touch and you amazing, awesome, wonderful nonprofits continue to share your incredible, life-changing stories with me.
In due time, another talented editor-in-chief will fill this position and will continue to grace you with valuable, and hopefully entertaining and stimulating, content. But in the interim, should you need anything at all, you can reach out to me at qnhute@gmail.com. And please connect with me on LinkedIn and follow me on Twitter (@_nhube) to see what I’m up to.
Until we “meet” again, I wish you nothing but the best. Thank you for years of friendship and mentorship. I have learned so much from each and every one of you. And as they say, this isn’t “goodbye” — it’s “see you soon!”
Sincerely,
Nhu Te
