The fact that 96 cents of every dollar goes directly to programs and services is something that separates it from many other organizations — and Food Bank For New York City isn’t shy about making that statistic known, along with the fact that it provides more than 300,000 free, nutritious meals every day. The key, Boroff says, is to let donors know that giving to the organization gets them the biggest bang for their donated buck.
