Givebutter Creates Livestream Feature to Combat COVID-19 Event Cancellations
Nonprofit technology platform Givebutter announced the launch of Livestream, a completely free product for real-time, virtual event fundraising.
The Givebutter team designed and launched Livestream in less than two weeks to combat COVID-19 charity spring event cancellations. Livestream is now freely available to all nonprofits, small businesses and individuals in need of a fundraising page for virtual events. Givebutter’s Livestream product has arrived just in time for #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5, 2020, with features such as e-tickets, livestreaming, text-to-donate, peer-to-peer pages and a Venmo integration — all in one place, all in real-time.
“We had never run a virtual event prior to working with Givebutter, and we couldn’t be happier with the results,” said BBYO’s movement strategy and operations associate, Nolan Hausler. “Our event needed to go from physical to digital in just a few days, and the platform far exceeded our expectations."
Livestream was launched in collaboration with leading nonprofit technology companies Bloomerang, ThankView and ToneDen to offer a virtual giving experience unlike any other. Livestream empowers users to stream live and pre-recorded video via Zoom, Facebook Live, YouTube Live, Vimeo and Twitch, and easily embed these streams into a campaign page.
