With the deadline for the 10th annual NonProfit PRO Gold Awards for Fundraising Excellence only a few weeks away, let’s take a look back at one of the winners from 2008, "Annual Review for Supporters" from the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
Submitted by DaVinci Direct, this Gold Awards winner for Renewal (Fewer Than 50,000 Mailed) was an easy call by the judges.
The brochure, mailed by the organization to its donor base, featured the food bank's achievements over the previous year. Besides the copy, photos were included of volunteers helping to accomplish the group’s mission. And, the faces of folks helped by the group showed its impact.
Two figures about this campaign jump out from the rest: The average gift was $76.48, and the cost to raise a dollar was $0.07.

Then, get your submissions ready for the 2015 Gold Awards. The deadline is Sept. 14. For an entry to be eligible, the campaign must have taken place sometime between Jan. 1, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2014.
Download the entry form here. There is a $125 entry fee for the first entry from a company and/or nonprofit organization, and each additional entry costs $75.
Each entry must be submitted individually and be accompanied by its own entry form and check. Please submit two copies of each entry.
