Hatch, a ‘Giving Intelligence’ platform for nonprofits, announced it has raised $3 million in seed funding. The funding will enable Hatch to accelerate user growth and continue to develop cutting-edge tools for the nonprofit sector.
The Hatch platform offers robust 3rd party data enrichment including wealth signaling, social, and lifestyle data to craft a unique “complete human profile.” Leveraging such profiles allows nonprofit staff across the fundraising and marketing teams to increase donor engagement and maximize donations.
The company’s founder and CEO, Moshe Hecht, previously led the popular crowdfunding platform, Charidy, which has helped more than 8,000 nonprofits raise over $3 Billion. That experience led him to start Hatch in 2021. Hecht says, “It became abundantly clear to me that the biggest gap that charities have is in not leveraging data to engage their donors.”
By targeting and segmenting individuals based on their actual giving capacity, skills, interests, and social footprint, Hatch has already enabled over 150 nonprofits across North America to improve their fundraising operations. Notable clients include Volunteers of America, and Texas A&M University-Commerce. This fundraising round was led by Differential Ventures, with participation from Character, venture capitalist Howard Morgan, and a group of prominent angel investors. Previous investors included David Magerman, Tiferes Ventures, and Adam Miller, founder of Cornerstone OnDemand. This round brings their total funding to $5 million.
Differential partner, David Magerman shares “We are proud to partner with Hatch on their mission and see a path to doing well by doing good.”
“The nonprofit sector is often overlooked in the tech world, but the potential for large scale outcomes are there” says Hecht. He continues, “We are proud to partner with such notable investors in building towards our mission of significantly expanding global charitable giving to address the vital social and humanitarian needs of our time.”
