* Develop a strategy — that is expected to fail — for each. If you expect to fail, you may well not. And if you succeed, you could bring about mega change in your organisation and your fundraising.
3. Try. We all know that, in fundraising, the only way to find out if something really is true is to test, or to try. So why do we shy away from trying so much? The Funky Fundraising Failures session certainly showed that if we didn’t try, we would never have gotten to where we are today. So, fundraisers around the world, get out there, and commit a sizeable chunk of your budget to innovation and to giving yourself the opportunity to test, try and (if necessary) screw up. Again and again. Because one day, you will develop something spectacular.
