London, April 5, 2009, Financial Times — Jet-setting consumers with a social conscience will soon be able to supplement their governments’ support to the poor through personal contributions each time they buy air tickets.
While the financial crisis is squeezing public budgets in the developed and developing world alike, private individuals will from late this year be offered the chance to donate $2 (€1.48, £1.35) for each flight they buy to improving the health of those on low incomes.
