Most of the elements inside the envelope — the reply device, BRE and double-sided letter — are plain and don’t continue the high-color, illustrated theme introduced on the outer. The only element to do so is a 3-inch-by-4.5-inch prayer card that replicates the four-color illustrated image of Padre Pio on its front panel, and connects the recipient with what most likely drew him into the mailing to start. The glossy prayer card is printed on card stock and opens to show a “Novena Prayer to Padre Pio” printed down the inner, left-hand panel and the Padre Pio medal affixed with tape to the right-hand panel.
