(Press release, June 9, 2014) — The Resource Alliance is pleased to announce that Kyla Shawyer has been appointed interim CEO, a position she will hold over the course of the next year.
Kyla has served as both chair and vice chair on the Advisory Panel of the International Fundraising Congress (IFC), the flagship international conference of the Resource Alliance. She has spent 20 years in fundraising, marketing and resource mobilization both within the international nonprofit community, as well as inside the commercial sector. Most recently, Kyla's experience has included leading the international fundraising, marketing and program delivery for Operation Smile International, a global children's nonprofit organization with programs in over 60 countries.
Jan Krol, chair of the Resource Alliance, says, "Kyla's extensive development and management experience brings great value as the Resource Alliance continues to work with the nonprofit sector globally in enhancing its skills and knowledge in fundraising, leadership and philanthropy. Her knowledge of the sector, passion, commitment, and a track record for growth and innovation in fundraising and leadership will help us to leverage the Resource Alliance's contributions within the global network, and ensure our important work thrives in the months and years to come."

Kyla replaces Neelam Makhijani, who departed the Resource Alliance to return to India.
