Lady Gaga’s Foundation Promotes Kindness with #BeKind21 Social Media Campaign

The Born This Way Foundation is promoting kindness for the third-straight year with its #BeKind21 campaign. Named for Lady Gaga’s 2011 hit song, “Born This Way,” the foundation asks participants to practice an act of kindness each day for 21 days, culminating on the U.N. International Day of Peace.

Participants are encouraged to share their experiences on social media with the campaign hashtag, #BeKind21. Last year, people around the world pledged to do 112 million acts of kindness, with more than 200 partners, including entire school districts, cities, nonprofits and corporations, joining forces with the campaign last year.

Cynthia Germanotta, president of Born This Way Foundation, which focuses on mental health research and youth programming, co-founded the foundation with her daughter, Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta.
