Press release (Jan. 3, 2013) — Lynn S. Edmonds, president of LW Robbins, a direct marketing fundraising agency, has been named the 2012 Direct Marketing Fundraising Association (DMFA) Marketer of the Year.
The award recognizes Edmonds’ many accomplishments and her deep commitment to the nonprofit and direct marketing communities during her 35-plus year career.
Edmonds received the award at the DMFA Year-End Luncheon Dec. 5, 2012, at the Yale Club in New York City.
During the course of her career, Edmonds has developed innovative and successful fundraising programs for many leading nonprofit organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, American Health Assistance Foundation, St. Labre Indian School, MAP International, the Coast Guard Foundation, American Diabetes Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Catholic Relief Services, Consumers Union, Covenant House, National Audubon Society and more than 40 regional food banks, among others.
A hands-on fundraiser and leader, Edmonds is deeply involved in the direct response fundraising community. She is a board member of the Association of Direct Response Fundraising Counsel (ADRFCO) and the National Catholic Development Conference (NCDC). She was recently appointed to another term on the board of the DMA Direct Marketing Educational Foundation and has served on the Editorial Advisory Board of FundRaising Success Magazine. She has served as co-chair of the DMA Nonprofit Federation Nonprofit Conference and is a frequent speaker at fundraising and direct marketing conferences nationwide.
Edmonds also received the FundRaising Success Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. Under her leadership, Edmonds’ fundraising teams have also won more than 100 national and regional industry awards for creative excellence and outstanding results.

The DMFA Marketer of the Year Award was created by the DMFA in 2002 to honor a member who has made significant contributions to the direct marketing fundraising field. The DMFA is the only professional association catering exclusively to direct marketing fundraisers and provides educational programs, networking events and member resources for nonprofit professionals and the suppliers who serve them.
