Press release (Oct. 1, 2012) — Fundraising agency McPherson Associates has announced it will now conduct business as Next Generation Fundraising.
"Our new name speaks to the next generation of leadership in our company, the next generation of development professionals, the next generation of technologies, the next generation of donors and philanthropists, and the next generation of fundraising strategy," said Tim Oleary, NextGen's principal and CEO.
Principal and COO Carol Leister added, "We are looking forward to this next chapter as we build upon the founding principles of McPherson Associates."
Oleary and Leister purchased the company at the beginning of 2012 from its founder, Dick McPherson.
McPherson started the company in 1984 and now serves as NextGen's chief innovator. He is a legend in the fundraising community and will continue to consult on strategy and emerging technologies.
"Our goal is to take many of the philosophies and concepts that Dick created forward and add new layers of practices and services to keep up with the changes in the marketplace," Oleary said. "We are passionate about taking Next Generation in this new direction and look forward to the years ahead serving our clients."
NextGen provides fundraising strategy and direct marketing services to nonprofit clients in public media, higher education, museums, conservation, disaster relief and religious services.
