Merkle Hires Angie C. Moore as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Fundraising Group
Columbia, Md., August 3, 2009 — Merkle, one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing database marketing agencies, announced the appointment of Angie C. Moore to the position of senior vice president and general manager for its fundraising services group. Moore brings to Merkle extensive industry knowledge gained from more than 20 years of marketing and fundraising experience with private companies and national health charities that include the American Cancer Society and the Arthritis Foundation.
Merkle’s fundraising services group offers a wide spectrum of integrated marketing services for leading nonprofits including the American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Wildlife Federation and Feeding America. Central to these services is Merkle’s unique data-driven approach, which combines the strongest attributes of transaction-based fundraising with donor engagement based on attitudes and relevancy.
Before joining Merkle, Moore was the managing director, constituent relationship management, for the national office of the American Cancer Society in Atlanta. While there, Moore led the nonprofit’s development into an increasingly constituent-focused organization through the implementation of strategic planning and relevant, integrated cross-channel communications. Prior to that position, Moore served at the Arthritis Foundation in various management positions that culminated in her appointment as group vice president, customer relationship marketing. Earlier, Moore spent several years directing client strategy at an Atlanta-area direct marketing firm.
Moore’s innovative efforts and achievements have earned top industry recognition. The NonProfit Times named Moore one of the “Top 10 Influential & Effective Fundraisers for 2009,” and one of the nation’s top ten fundraisers under the age of 40 in 2005. Target Marketing magazine included Moore in a 2006 cover story about eight trendsetters in corporate and nonprofit marketing. Moore’s industry involvement includes a two-year term as the Board Chair of the DMA NonProfit Federation.
Merkle President and CEO David Williams said, “Angie Moore holds a wealth of donor-focused fundraising experience and we are elated to have her join the fundraising team at Merkle. With Angie placed at the helm, we will not only continue our focus on building the best strategies for the best nonprofits in the world, but we will also help our clients further distinguish themselves by infusing their programs with a constituent-focused approach to sustaining relationships for maximum profitability.”
Angie Moore said, “Nonprofits are at a critical juncture. They must think differently and market in new ways if they expect to not only grow, but to even maintain the ongoing commitment of their donors. Merkle represents that difference and, in my opinion, is the only agency positioned to create that success from a strategy, service and product perspective. Today, effective fundraising is not only about demonstrating a strong return on investment, but also about creating relationships and staying relevant to constituents based on their individual needs, expectations, behaviors and attitudes using an array of traditional and new online web and social media strategies.”
