MissionWise® Adds Projects from New and Existing Clients: Helps Nonprofits Become More Sustainable
Seattle, WA, August 13, 2009 — MissionWise® announced today that it has recently added several projects from new and existing clients throughout the country. Established as the consulting arm of Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (C.H.E.F.®) to help organizations become stronger and more sustainable in their efforts to eliminate health inequities, MissionWise works with a variety of nonprofits such as funders, their grantees, and other health and human service organizations. Included among these are numerous local, regional, and national philanthropies, clinics, hospitals, universities, plus a variety of program and service providers.
MissionWise has experienced robust growth within recent months, adding numerous projects from new clients such as Allegany Franciscan Ministries of Tampa, Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, Arizona Grantmakers Forum, Community Foundation of North Florida, icouldbe.org, Kidz Bite Back, Reclaiming Futures, and The California Endowment. In addition, MissionWise has grown its business through expanded relationships with a number of its existing clients, including Denver Harbor Clinic, In SHAPE Program of Monadnock Family Services, The Dibble Institute, and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
MissionWise is engaged with its new and existing clients in numerous ways ranging from delivering consultation, training, and mentoring to foundation grantees over an extended period of time in areas such as capacity-building and sustainability; to providing workshops and webinars addressing topics such as earned-income strategies, social enterprise, and protecting intellectual property rights; to conducting brainstorming sessions on scenario-planning, risk-mitigation, and revenue-generation for nonprofits. The length of project engagement varies for each MissionWise client, with some projects lasting two years or more, and others with a much shorter duration of one or two days.
"We have been pleasantly surprised by the growth and momentum of our organization in recent months, especially given the current economic challenges faced by funders, nonprofits, and other health and human service organizations," said Larry Clark, MissionWise's leader and C.H.E.F.'s President and Chief Executive Officer. "We believe it is because of these economic challenges that organizations are seeking out our services as they look for ways to better achieve their mission and financial bottom lines through a strong business plan and diverse revenue base." Clark continued, "From its launch just a few short years ago, MissionWise has had a unique offering as a consultancy connected to a nonprofit that is a funder, a program and service provider, and a successful social enterprise with a history of thirty-five years."
