New Technology Platforms Brings Together Foundations, Nonprofits for More Impactful Outcomes
When it comes to a nonprofit organization’s mission, relationships are important. It is imperative for nonprofits to use everything at their disposal to reach their mission’s goals. It’s a known fact that technology is constantly evolving. It’s easy to think of technology and relationships as two separate entities, but what if we melded the two together to achieve “the bigger picture”?
At the Collaborative, a three-day conference connecting the social sector to share solutions and inspire change, Jason Ricci, founder and CEO of Fluxx, challenged the sector to think about finding the right solution with a technology perspective to achieve the organization’s goals.
“In all the work that we do, at the end of the day, it’s all about relationships. That’s not what might be what drives someone to donate, but it might be what gets somebody to come back. It’s that emotional connection, so the interesting thing to me is that we tend separate technology from the bigger decisions that need to be made… Technology is the facilitator, but it’s not doing anything if it’s not put together with the bigger picture.” — Ricci
One of the biggest challenges is that funders and nonprofits are completely separate. Ricci believes that “they can’t be [separate], because it will never succeed that way.” Why? Because funders and nonprofits are both working toward the same goal and share the same passion for the mission.
On June 13, Fluxx, a technology company with a deep commitment to transform the grant process and inspire lasting good, launched its new funding system, Grantseeker. Grankseeker aims to connect funders with nonprofits to create an effective partnership.
“It may seem like [funders and nonprofits] are sitting on opposite ends of the table. And sometimes, these relationships can seem like they’re transactional. Focus your time, your energy, your resource, your passion on driving change in some of the most important challenges of our time.” — Ricci
Grantseeker’s interface allows users to see a multitude of funding opportunities in one place and timeline functionality to show applications that have been completed and those that are still in progress, according to release from Fluxx.
Here are a few of Grantseeker’s features:
- Embedded applications
- Integrated workflow
- Continuous learning
- Seamless knowledge transfer
