TrueSense Marketing, the fundraising agency behind the April 21, 2020 day of online giving known as #GiveFromHomeDay, announced that 249 participating charities from 45 states reported more than $1.2 million dollars raised from 4,778 donors who gave from their homes to help neighbors in need as part of this campaign.
TrueSense provided campaign logos, schedules, templates and guidelines free of charge to any registered charity.
“Four weeks ago, we were discussing how TrueSense Marketing could help our clients during the pandemic,” TrueSense president Steven Busheé said in a press release. “As marketers, we aren’t going to find a cure for COVID-19, but we knew we could help in our own way, connecting donors with the causes they care about. What started as a pro bono campaign for our clients grew quickly and ended up helping hundreds of essential nonprofits, large and small, national and local.”
According to Busheé, less than 15% of the 249 charities who participated in #GiveFromHomeDay were actually TrueSense clients.
Because #GiveFromHomeDay was so successful, TrueSense has extended the initiative for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis. It has repackaged the free digital assets, tools and guidelines available on GiveFromHomeDay.com for any nonprofit interested in launching their own day of giving.
