Press release (Sept. 7, 2011) — Razoo, a giving and fundraising website, announced that its board of directors has named Lesley Mansford to serve as the new chief executive officer. Interim CEO Brian Fujito will remain in his position as CTO.
As the co-founder and COO of Pogo.com, the largest online casual games community, Mansford's background includes 17 years of senior level marketing and operational experience with leading interactive entertainment companies such as Electronic Arts. While Razoo is headquartered in Washington, D.C., Mansford will be based in San Francisco, building out a West Coast presence for Razoo.
Razoo Board Chairman Mark Stoleson said, "Lesley's leadership and experience in building online communities as well as her own philanthropic endeavors make her the ideal CEO to lead Razoo. Her appointment is an important step toward realizing Razooıs vision to democratize philanthropy and become the dominant brand of giving."
Mansford's commitment to a variety of nonprofit organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Leadership Institute for the Ecology and Economy, and the Women's Initiative as well as her individual fundraising efforts will also provide Razoo with insights into what nonprofits and individuals want and need to effectively fundraise online.
Razoo is an online giving marketplace and community where users can not only donate and fundraise easily, but also explore popular causes; get to know top fundraisers; receive fundraising ideas; and connect with their friends, family and network. Razoo has helped thousands of individuals and nonprofits raise more than $49 million.
"It's a great honor to join Razoo's leadership team and have the opportunity to build on its success" said Mansford. "Giving to worthy causes should be a meaningful and life-changing experience. To ensure that anyone can enjoy giving, we must harness technology to lower the barriers donors face when deciding how to give, and allow them to see the difference their generosity makes. This empowers fundraisers to build communities around their causes, making Razoo a unique community platform."
