June 2, 2009, Bloomberg — Though the hit revival of “Hair” isn’t running at a Shubert-owned theater, Shubert money helped the Broadway show get on its feet.
For the 30th straight year, the Shubert Foundation increased funding of not-for-profit companies such as New York’s Public Theater, which produced the “Hair” revival. Funding during the fiscal year ending May 31 was $17.59 million, up 4 percent from $16.93 million the previous year.
