Press release (Aug. 22, 2013) — Direct-response marketing agencies Russ Reid and SCA Direct, which both specialize in helping nonprofit organizations raise funds, have merged. The new entity, called Russ Reid, represents some of the best-known charities in North America. Russ Reid offices are in Pasadena, Calif., and Toronto, while SCA Direct is headquartered in Fairfax, Va., a suburb of Washington, D.C.
"We believe the merger will benefit our clients and our employees in a number of ways," said Tom Harrison, CEO of Russ Reid and chair of Omnicom's Nonprofit Group of agencies. "Our expanded geographic presence means we can provide faster, better service to our clients. By combining the expertise of both entities, we'll have a broader mix of products and channels to help nonprofit clients raise more funds."
In addition, Roger Hiyama, a longtime direct-marketing expert with deep roots in the nonprofit fundraising world, is joining the organization as senior vice president of Russ Reid and managing director of the Fairfax office. Hiyama was formerly president of strategic fundraising at CDR Fundraising Group and Barton Cotton and also served for seven years as head of client services, strategy and analytics at Merkle.
The combined entity offers digital fundraising, DRTV, direct mail, catalog, DR radio and social fundraising products in English, Spanish and French to more than 200 nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada. All three offices report to Russ Reid President Alan Hall.
Russ Reid is a part of Diversified Agency Services, a division of Omnicom Group Inc.
