Press release (Dec. 14, 2011) — Calling all young people! The first annual Hilarity for Charity will be Jan. 13 in Los Angeles. As co-hosts of the evening, Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller along with friends will bring together stand up, sketch comedy, musical performances, food trucks and a chance to buy your way into heaven — all in the name of Alzheimer’s research and awareness.
“Hilarity for Charity started as a message to my generation that it’s time to step up and realize that Alzheimer’s is not just an ‘old person’ disease, but something that will greatly affect all of us,” said Seth Rogen. “Having a family member with Alzheimer’s disease has made me aware of the damage it does not only to the person who has been diagnosed, but to the caregivers, friends and family who surround the person.”
The evening will feature star-studded performances and guest appearances by: Bruno Mars, Aziz Ansari, Jack Black/Tenacious D, Ty Burrell, Jersey Shore’s Pauly D, Mindy Kaling, David Krumholtz, Ken Marino, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, The Wavves, Justin Willman and Charlyne Yi (schedule permitting). Tickets to Hilarity for Charity start at $150 per person and can be found, along with sponsorship packages, at alz.org/hilarityforcharity.
Hilarity for Charity will be held at Vibiana (214 S. Main St.) in downtown Los Angeles. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. PT; the show begins at 9:00 p.m. PT.
