Target Analytics Introduces ResearchPoint for Prospect Research Management
Charleston, S.C., June 1, 2009 — Blackbaud, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLKB), today announced the launch of ResearchPoint™ by Target Analytics™, a solution that helps nonprofits identify, target, and cultivate potential major and planned giving donors. Among the early adopters using ResearchPoint to gain a better understating of their donor bases are Operation Homefront and The Wichita State University (WSU) Foundation. With ResearchPoint, these organizations can now efficiently manage key prospect information and build donor cultivation strategies.
“Identifying and targeting the best prospects to support an organization is imperative in creating lasting relationships and building a strong base of support,” said Chris South, vice president of Target Analytics, a Blackbaud company. “Nonprofits using ResearchPoint are able to turn simple data into actionable information to make better strategic decisions and in turn, build better development plans.”
Delivered through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, ResearchPoint is available online anytime, anywhere and helps nonprofit organizations save on infrastructure costs. It combines public data with constituent information from a nonprofit’s database, building a complete view of prospects.
Operation Homefront, an early adopter of ResearchPoint, leads more than 4,500 volunteers in 30 chapters nationwide and has provided critical assistance to more than 45,000 military families in need. The staff’s use of ResearchPoint has uncovered numerous donors with high capacity and likelihood to make a gift to Operation Homefront.
“Relationships with our donors are very important to us. We’ve gained a holistic view of those prospects and donors who can support Operation Homefront in a large way,” said Barbara Moore, director of individual giving at Operation Homefront. “We can now treat donors the way they need to be treated, communicate with them the way they want—ResearchPoint is an excellent tool for those people who are actually raising money.”
The WSU Foundation, established in 1965, is the official fundraising and fund-management organization for Wichita State University, a state-assisted Division I institution with an enrollment of more than 14,000. ResearchPoint is used to reveal new information about donors and prospects in existing WSU databases and has helped the advancement office to spend more time focusing on the University’s mission.
“We are able to save time building profiles while receiving a quick view of prospects with ResearchPoint,” said Amy Charles, director of prospect research at WSU. “It helps us to find wealth and properties that we may not have otherwise discovered because it pulls from proven and authoritative sources. I also like that ResearchPoint receives automatic updates so we know the information is always current.”
