Believe it or not, the deadline for the eighth annual FundRaising Success Gold Awards for Fundraising Excellence is almost upon us. All entries are due in our offices this Friday, Sept. 7. So if you haven't already, send in your submission now!
The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) announced the winners of the 2012 DMEF Collegiate ECHO Direct/Interactive Marketing Challenge, whose content was provided by SkyMall. DMEF awarded a total of $8,500 in scholarships to the University of Georgia, which swept this year’s competition, with $3,500 in cash prizes going to the winning student teams.
Conducted since 1986, DMEF’s Collegiate ECHO Challenge provides college students with real-world experience by challenging them to create a marketing campaign for an actual product or service.
Cerebral Palsy International Research Foundation (CPIRF) will honor one of its longest standing and most passionate supporters, former chairman of the Federal Reserve, Paul A. Volcker, chairman of the board for CPIRF, on Sept. 27 in New York City.
Volcker, whose son James was born with CP, has been a driving force behind research to improve the lives of those with CP and related developmental disabilities.

Chapman Cubine Adams + Hussey received a platinum Big Idea Award for a campaign with The Trust for Public Land and 19 (for a total of 20) 2012 MAXI Awards for its direct-marketing efforts on behalf of 13 clients. The awards span multiple categories and include CCAH’s work in digital media, direct mail, multichannel and telemarketing.
Fundraising agency McPherson Associates Inc. captured a DMAW MAXI Bronze Award for excellence and innovation in nonprofit direct marketing for its partnership with United Methodist Committee on Relief.

Every year, the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association holds its Package of the Year Awards to honor some of the best direct-mail and e-mail fundraising campaigns. This year's winners were announced in June, with Covenant House taking home the highest honor as the overall winner of Package of the Year.
