Lynore DeSantis, chief financial officer and vice president of operations of New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program Inc. (NJMEP), has been named as a finalist for the 2011 NJBIZ CFO of the Year awards. DeSantis is a finalist in the Nonprofit CFO – Small category for the program produced by NJBIZ, New Jersey’s premiere business news publication.
The CFO of the Year awards program celebrates New Jersey’s financial executives who contribute to the success of the state’s economic growth and stability.
The T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research is proud to announce the honorees for the 36th Annual Awards Gala, which will take place Nov. 3rd in New York. The award winners are Bea Perez, chief sustainability officer at The Coca-Cola Co.; Scott Borchetta, president/CEO of the Big Machine Label Group; golf legend Arnold Palmer; and actor/comedian Drew Carey. Each honoree is heavily involved with nonprofit organizations and fundraisers dedicated cancer and AIDS research.
Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health Founder and Executive Director Sara Finger has been named as one of the top 25 emerging leaders competing for the CLASSY Young Nonprofit Leader of the Year Award. At the beginning of the summer, StayClassy notified IUDM it was nominated for the Most Influential College Student or Organization for the third annual Classy Awards. StayClassy is an online social fundraising site that helps to promote
nonprofits.
Four fundraisers have earned the highest professional certification, the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE), from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
The newest ACFRE recipients are Sharon Gleason of Washington, D.C., director of development for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital, R. Scott Fortnum of Newmarket, Ontario, chief development officer for Saint Elizabeth Foundation, James K. Phelps of Vancouver, Wash., development director at the ACLU of Oregon, and Cecilia N. Soriano of Mission Viejo, Calif., who was most recently executive director of gift planning for University of California, Riverside.
Nonprofit Dubai Cares has been announced as the winner of the International Stevie Award for Company of the Year in the Non-Profit or Government Organization category in The 2011 International Business Awards. By winning, Dubai Cares will also be included in the public voting for People's Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite Companies, to be revealed at the 8th Annual International Business Awards in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 11, 2011. The awards are the only global, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in business.
The Donate Movement, a public awareness campaign powered by Goodwill, has been nominated for a CLASSY Award in the “Most Effective Awareness Campaign By A Charity” category. StayClassy presents the CLASSY awards — the largest philanthropic awards contest in the country — to recognize the most outstanding philanthropic achievements by nonprofits, businesses and individuals nationwide. From now until Aug. 26, public voting is open at http://classyawards.org for each of the 12 categories, and there are 25 finalists in each of those categories; six of those categories are strictly for nonprofits.
The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation announced the winners of the 2011 DMEF Collegiate ECHO Direct/Interactive Marketing Challenge, whose content was provided by charity: water, an international nonprofit that provides clean drinking water to communities worldwide that are deprived of access.
