Web-based philanthropy seeks lasting relationships

The internet did not just “speak” for Obama during the election race; it roared. The rest is history. It is a history, however, that validates what Ted Hart, CEO of the Hart Philanthropic Services Group, international consultant and speaker on nonprofit strategies, and author of six books on the subject, believed would be the case when, in 2000, he founded the group to develop the concept of raising funds online. “The internet,” Hart claimed at the time, “is going to drive fund raising.”

PayPal Mobile Adds Charitable Donations

PayPal, eBay?s online-payment service, has introduced PayPal Mobile 2.5, a new version of its application for Apple?s iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The updated version of the PayPal app allows users to donate to their favourite charities. Plymouth resident Linda Crandall had trouble scheduling pickup times for donations to nonprofits, inspiring she and her husband, Duane, to start a website that they say helps donors and charities alike. GoodDonor.org is nearing its one-year anniversary and has expanded beyond the Twin Cities to other states. Cost-effective way to raise funds despite trust issues SINGAPORE - It may comprise only a small portion of charity donations but online giving looks set to grow, some industry players believe.
