Blackbaud announced that it has hired Brad Holman as president of its International Business Unit. Based in Sydney, he will lead Blackbaud’s international operations including Blackbaud’s England, Hong Kong, Australia, and Netherlands offices, as well as all international business development activities.

C-level executives Angel Aloma, Danny McGregor and Atul Tandon, along with moderator Tom Harrison, discussed the biggest issues concerning fundraisers at the DMA Nonprofit Federation New York Nonprofit Conference.

Nonprofit groups added jobs during the recession, according to an analysis of government data from 21 states by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Civil Society Studies.

Nonprofit employment in those states grew by an average of 2.5 percent a year from the second quarter of 2007 to the second quarter of 2009, the study found. By contrast, for-profit employers in the same 21 states shed jobs by an average of 3.3 percent a year.

PHILADELPHIA, October 14, 2009 — The American Association for Cancer Research welcomes Michael J. Burton as the chief development officer and executive director of the AACR Foundation. MINNEAPOLIS, September 28, 2009 — AchieveMpls announced today that Catherine Jordan, the first president and CEO of AchieveMpls, the nonprofit Local Education Fund dedicated to supporting Minneapolis Public School students as they succeed in school and become productive members of society, will be leaving the organization to join the Bush Foundation. She will join the Foundation's Leadership and Community Engagement Team starting in November, 2009.
