Blackbaud announced that it has acquired Everyday Hero, a privately-owned company based in Brisbane, Australia. Everyday Hero’s event fundraising tools are used by tens of thousands of individual fundraisers and 1400 customers in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The 27-person Everyday Hero staff will continue to serve its growing customer base of leading nonprofit fundraising events in Australia and will continue to grow Everyday Hero’s presence in Asia-Pacific and the UK. Blackbaud will continue to grow Everyday Hero’s product offerings.

Blackbaud announced the release of a new book, "The Supporter Journey," whiich aims to educate nonprofit organizations on building and maintaining relationships throughout the supporter life cycle. With chapters by industry leaders and Blackbaud experts, this book is a reference for nonprofits to understand each stage of a supporter’s complete relationship with their organization.
"The Supporter Journey" is the fifth book of Blackbaud’s Desktop Reference Series. The book series is dedicated to exploring the subjects that matter most to nonprofits.

Blackbaud announced the availability of two new services for nonprofit prospect researchers: Dossiers on Demand and NOZA Exact Match Constituent Screenings. The services are the latest offerings from Target Analytics, a Blackbaud company, which offers solutions for donor acquisition, prospect research, donor benchmarking, custom modeling, and data enrichment services to more than 6,000 nonprofits.
As the fourth quarter of 2011 begins, fewer than half of surveyed nonprofits reported fundraising increases during the first half of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010.
According to a report released by the Nonprofit Research Collaborative (NRC), of 813 responding nonprofits surveyed in July:
- 44 percent reported increases in charitable contributions received through June, compared with the same period in 2010;
- 25 percent reported giving remained level; and
- 30 percent reported charitable contributions have declined so far this year.
- 1 percent did not know.
Blackbaud announced its inclusion in Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers, now in its 29th year. Blackbaud was ranked 144, with total software/services revenue of $320.4 million and total corporate revenue of $327.1 million in 2010. The ranking positioned Blackbaud as the largest provider of nonprofit software on the Software 500 list.
Blackbaud announced that it rose to number 198 on this year’s InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology. This is the second consecutive year that Blackbaud has been included on the list, which it debuted on at 209 last year.
Blackbaud was recognized for completing 16 IT initiatives that helped establish better relationships with its clients.
Nonprofit organizations in the U.S. were better at retaining donors and shored up their net losses in donations in 2010, according to the latest report of the Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP). The FEP, a report of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy at the Urban Institute, compares gains and losses of donors and donation amounts. The FEP indicates year over year growth by comparing how many new donors are acquired with how many stopped giving, and the donation levels of each.
Blackbaud announced that the American Bible Society (ABS) has selected Blackbaud CRM to improve its supporters’ experience, from direct marketing to online engagement.
The mission of ABS, a 195-year old organization, is to share God’s word with people around the world in a language and format that they can understand so they can enjoy the benefits of transformation that comes from God.
