Blackbaud, Inc. and TechSoup today announced that they are expanding their existing partnership through new webinars, donations and discounts, and with an additional focus on the technology needs of small nonprofits. The organizations launched a survey at www.blackbaud.com/techsurvey seeking feedback from small nonprofits with annual revenues of less than $1 million on their technology needs. The survey will remain open until April 25 and results will be available this summer.
Blackbaud and Constant Contact announced the availability of an integration between Constant Contact Email Marketing and eTapestry fundraising software designed to help nonprofits target donors more effectively and efficiently by segmenting and seamlessly updating their email marketing lists. Users can access the free integration as an email option directly within the communicate section of eTapestry or via the Constant Contact MarketPlace.
The announcement that Blackbaud has agreed to acquire Convio has certainly made the day more interesting. A surprise to me and most of my colleagues, clients and partners, the press release has inspired more Twitter, e-mail and phone activity than I can remember in quite a while. Nearly everyone has asked the same questions: What will it mean? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
Blackbaud announced that it has acquired Everyday Hero, a privately-owned company based in Brisbane, Australia. Everyday Hero’s event fundraising tools are used by tens of thousands of individual fundraisers and 1400 customers in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The 27-person Everyday Hero staff will continue to serve its growing customer base of leading nonprofit fundraising events in Australia and will continue to grow Everyday Hero’s presence in Asia-Pacific and the UK. Blackbaud will continue to grow Everyday Hero’s product offerings.
Nonprofit organizations in the U.S. were better at retaining donors and shored up their net losses in donations in 2010, according to the latest report of the Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP). The FEP, a report of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy at the Urban Institute, compares gains and losses of donors and donation amounts. The FEP indicates year over year growth by comparing how many new donors are acquired with how many stopped giving, and the donation levels of each.
Blackbaud and Constant Contact announced a strategic partnership agreement that will provide small and growing nonprofits with the tools and training they need to optimize their e-marketing programs. The companies will integrate key products and combine their expertise to develop nonprofit-specific seminars training, and best practices. Leveraging Blackbaud’s analytics expertise, the companies will also work together to help nonprofits enhance their programs with new analytic capabilities.
Blackbaud announced the opening of an office in Mexico City, a new local team, and a reseller agreement with EXITE.TI to support the growing Latin American philanthropic sector.
Blackbaud has been investing in the region since the introduction of eTapestry Español, its first Spanish-language software, in 2010. With this new partnership, EXITE.TI will handle the sales and support of Blackbaud products in Mexico, including eTapestry Español, a web-delivered Spanish-language fundraising and CRM solution designed for small to mid-sized nonprofits to help them fundraise and manage relationships with their constituents.
