The core philosophy of integrated marketing is hardly new — that by communicating a consistently targeted message to constituents across multiple channels we increase overall effectiveness beyond the potential of any one channel alone. But in recent years, the number and nature of channels have increased exponentially.

UPS announced grants totaling $7 million to more than 80 nonprofit organizations whose mission is to support diverse populations. These grants will fund programs that develop leadership skills, promote education and encourage inclusion of all individuals.
Organizations receiving grants include the Human Rights Campaign, National Council of La Raza, National Urban League, NAACP, Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Paralyzed Veterans of America, National Federation of the Blind, and Girls Inc.
Convio announced the winners of its fifth annual Innovator Awards as revealed at a ceremony today at the Convio Summit, the company’s annual conference where more than 1000 nonprofit clients, partners and industry thought leaders gather as a community to share common experiences and effective strategies for nonprofits. The Innovator Awards recognize clients who have shown innovation and achievement through the use of Convio’s online software and services to better engage supporters to help fulfill their missions.
Traditionally, the highest-value donors in terms of dollars lie within the 65-and-older range. But, with more ways than ever to reach prospects, fundraisers increasingly are looking to engage a younger crowd. In a presentation titled "Yeah, Yup, Right On — Getting the Younger Donor to Say 'Yes' to Your Nonprofit" at the 47th Association of Fundraising Professionals International Conference on Fundraising going in Baltimore right now discussed ways to do just that.
In the session "Three Bears — How to Plan a Mid-Level Program That Is Just Right for Your Organization," at the DMA 2010 Washington Nonprofit Conference, speakers Jann Schultz, director of donor relations at Operation Smile; Susan Paine, director of direct marketing at the Human Rights Campaign; and Cathy Finney, associate vice president at MINDset direct, offered the following keys to success when planning a mid-level giving program.
Judging for the FS Gold Awards for Fundraising Excellence has always been grueling. This year, however, was particularly tough (read: intense but fun) because our judges decided to up the ante all on their own.
Menlo Park, Calif., July 7, 2009 — Community-based nonprofits and religious gay groups get top ratings in the GreatNonprofits 2009 Pride Choice Awards. Local LGBTQ nonprofits focusing on education, service, and advocacy received more positive ratings than large national nonprofits. Religious organizations, surprisingly, also made a strong showing in the list of winners.
