CHICAGO, IL, July 8, 2009 — North Park University is one of only two universities nationwide to offer a fully comprehensive nonprofit management program according to Nonprofit Quarterly, a magazine dedicated to strengthening the role of nonprofit organizations. In the 2009 Education Directory published in the spring issue, Nonprofit Quarterly surveyed schools nationwide to determine which eight essential programs are available at each institution. North Park University and Arizona State University were the only schools to meet all of the eight criteria.

CHICAGO, IL, June 16, 2009 — North Park University is pleased to host a BootCamp for nonprofit CEOs from Wednesday, July 8 through Friday, July 10 at its campus, located at 3225 West Foster Avenue in Chicago. Targeted to CEOs or executive directors who have been in their role for three years or less, the BootCamp is designed to maximize leadership effectiveness and organizational success for new nonprofit leaders. In its fourth year, BootCamp 2009 is again pleased to receive support from the Brinson Foundation and welcome a new sponsor, Achieve, a consulting firm based in Indianapolis.
CHICAGO, IL, May 14, 2009 — At its 10th annual nonprofit symposium on Wednesday, May 13th, at North Park University, The Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management awarded its prestigious Alford-Axelson Awards for Nonprofit Managerial Excellence. Girls in the Game won this year's award in the small nonprofit category and CommunityHealth won in the large nonprofit category. Family Service and Mental Health Center of Oak Park and River Forest (whose name was recently changed to Thrive Counseling Center) and Christopher House received the honorable mention awards (in the small and large categories, respectively).
CHICAGO, IL, April 2, 2009 — North Park University announced today that registration is now available for its 10th Annual Axelson Center Symposium, one of the largest gatherings of nonprofit professionals and volunteers in the greater Chicago area. The event, which will take place May 13 - 14 at North Park University, includes more than 30 regional and national speakers and will provide free nonprofit consulting services at various times throughout both days.
